Update the Base Station List at least once a month or more often

In Trimble GPS Pathfinder Office, Trimble GPS Analyst, Field Inspector or Trimble Positions it is recommended to update the Base Station Provider List at least once a month of more often.

  • Additions and substractions to the Base Station Provider List or even Edits can happen at any time.
  • If you are experiencing issues with downloading Base Station files also update your list.
  • If you are not able to download any base station data check with your IT department to be sure that Port 80 is open and or if  your permissions/access on your PC has change.
  • If a Base Station has not been working for several  weeks/months – select the Base Station name and click on “Properties” to find out who is in charge of that Base Station .  Then contact them to see if it is still on-line or if the data might be writing to a different server.  It may need to be removed from the Trimble Base Station list.  Or the Base Station Owner may need to contact Trimble with any updated information i.e. Station ID or file path of the data being written to a server.
  • Trimble maintains this base station list to provide users a link to someone else’s server IP address that contains base station data.  Trimble is not responsible for the data.
  • CORS/NGS and other non Seiler base stations generally post their data to their servers a few hours after each hour.  However it is still best practice to either wait until the next morning to correct your data.
  • Always double check that the base station data download has “100% Coverage” before you proceed with the correction process.

**** Seiler base stations:

  • All Seiler base stations post their data to the server after 7pm Central time for the previous 24 hours.  This is why it’s best to try your correction the next morning.
  • If you are not able correct against a Seiler base station for multiple days please contact us at: [email protected]  we will get back to you with the status of that base station.

The “Update List” button can be found on this screen shot:

  • A connection to the internet is required.
  • Firewall permissions to Port 21 are required.
  • Depending on your internet speed this can take a few minutes to download a current base station list.
  • If the Integrity Indexes have a “?” then proceed with caution and or the base station data is not available.
  • Integrity Index’s higher than 80 are reliable on a scale of 100.
  • Base stations that are GPS Only are listed with an “*” underneath “L2” column.
  • Base stations that are GPS and Glonass are listed with an “*” in the column below the
    “G” for Glonass.
